Five Top Foods for Studying

Studying can take its toll on you mentally. So here are ten foods that can help you feed your brain, so that you get the most out of your study time.

Tip 1 Pumpkin Seeds – these are great for providing your daily allowance of zinc, which is essential for improving memory and thinking skills. They also contain essential fatty acids, which are great for healthy brain function.

Tip 2 Wholegrains – when you are studying you need to feed your brain with glucose. You can do this by eating whole grains that release the glucose slowly, allowing you to study for longer periods. Try eating wholegrain bread, pasta or add wheatbran to your breakfast cereal.

Tip 3 Broccoli – this super green veg contains lots of lovely things to help your brain and body, but what we’re really interested in is the vitamin K. This wonderful vitamin is known for improving cognitive function and improving brain power.

Tip 4 Apples and Onions – you don’t have to eat these together, but you really should try to get them into your diet if you want to study more effectively. They both contain a powerful antioxidant called quercertin, which enhances memory function.

Tip 5 Legumes – beans such as chickpeas, lentils and kidney beans contain high levels of protein, which helps power the brain. They also contain lots of folic acid, which is known to improve your ability to recall information.
