Thank you to all who took part in our recent survey. Your answers have given us a good deal of food for thought. On the whole though, you thought we were doing a pretty good job.
Some people were not clear on how home study works. So I thought I’d point out some of the benefits.
Home study is great because . . .
Yes, of course I’d say that but I really do believe it’s great – and that’s from experience. A few years ago I studied an Astronomy module with Liverpool John Moores University. As you’ve probably gathered Astronomy is a hobby of mine. Anyway, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do this if it wasn’t offered by home study.
Here are three of the reasons why home study was great for me:
Firstly, there were no classes to attend so I studied when it suited me. I was able to fit my studies around work, a new baby and other commitments. And, living in England, it also meant I didn’t have to go out on cold, dark, rainy nights in winter or drive over to Liverpool – about an hour away.
Next, I could study at my pace and concentrate on the areas I found hard to understand. I didn’t feel the pressure of trying to keep up or the frustration of being held back by others.
And finally, help and support was only an email away so if I got really stuck I wasn’t left waiting until my next class to ask a question.
It worked well for me and over the years I’ve seen home study work well for thousands of Business Training students around the world.
