Business Training Courses – Training for All Areas of Life

An interesting question came up on our LinkedIn discussions this week: is business for every one?

One group member commented that you need training to be in business. Hear! Hear! As a training provider of course I agree.

My comment is that not everyone wants to be in business or even the boss. Lots of people go into professions such as teaching, caring and health who are extremely dedicated to their jobs but have no desire to be involved in the ‘business’ side of things. Others simply want a job to earn money but don’t want to be thinking about it every waking hour. In contrast there are the entrepreneurs who want to start a business and want to have business at the centre of their lives.

More Than Just Business Courses

Whatever your employment preference, you still need to train and learn new skills throughout your whole life. We call it life-long learning here in the UK and we’ve just finished Adult Learners’ Week which celebrates the achievements of adults who have transformed their lives through learning.

Training doesn’t just make your work life better – it can enhance all areas of your life!

Take our Time Management course for example – this covers managing your time at home as well as at work so you get the most out of your day and still have time for yourself. This course would be appropriate for anyone who feels that 24hrs in a day just isn’t enough. And, if some of the conversations I have are to go by, that’s most people!

Many Business Training students take the skills they have learnt from their Business English course and put them to good use in their communities – teaching English, translating letters for neighbours and working on community projects.

A Dream Job

Another discussion on LinkedIn is: what is your dream job?

This question was inspired by a snippet from the paper which told of a chocoholic (someone who is addicted to or extremely fond of chocolate) who has landed a job as a chocolate taster, beating 3000 other applications to the position. Lucky chap!

So join us on LinkedIn and tell us your dream job or leave a comment below.
