So, you’ve covered the basics in business English and now you want to improve. Where can you go for help? Well, you could start with the Macmillan Business podcasts. Not only are they all at pre-intermediate level and above, they also offer you a real-life perspective about working in the UK and other countries and what it’s like to work from home. There are 21 episodes to watch, so that should keep you occupied for while.

Once you’ve finished with those, why not move on to this set of Professionals Podcasts from The British Council? You can choose from podcasts about working life in the UK, like this one called English for Medicine – a doctor’s view; or listen to a manager’s experiences of managing staff and discover what he recommends in Line Management; or maybe you’d like to listen to a conversation that attempts to resolve a dispute between work colleagues in Managing Conflict.

That should keep you going for a while. Remember, the best way to improve in any language is to practise on a regular basis – and not just speaking! You also need to practise listening and writing skills too.

Have fun!
