In this issue we look at how having confidence in yourself can boost your career; how to improve your CV to make the most of your job prospects and we link you to an online dictionary that will ensure you never need to worry about your pronunciation again.

The weather here in the UK has been dreadful over the past few months – continuous rain and cloud. It doesn’t feel at all like summer. But it didn’t dampen people’s spirits at the Golden Jubilee celebrations and we’re all hoping that the sun will stick around for the Olympic Games over the next few weeks.

Whatever happens, everybody is confident that things will go well and there’s a real buzz about London. And that’s an important word – confidence. In this issue we’re going to look at how to build your own self-confidence so that you become more successful. Because, I can assure you, self-confidence can be learned and improved. It’s not just about affirmation and positive thinking (that’s only part of it), but more important is setting and achieving goals, thereby building competence as well as confidence. Our article Building Self Confidence – Preparing Yourself for Success tells you in a practical, sensible way how to do it. And as you are going through it, don’t forget to complete the quiz to find out how confident you already are. You may find the results interesting!

I’ve chosen this particular article because here at Business Training we’ve just introduced a new course Professional Sales Techniques and if you hope to be a successful sales person, self-confidence is vital. If you’re not confident in yourself and your products this will come across to the person you are talking to and they won’t buy from you.

Selling is a great job! It’s flexible - you can work for an employer or work for yourself, selling your own products – and whether the economy is good or bad, companies will always need salespeople. Plus, our course shows you not only every step of the selling process and how to succeed, there are also sections on retail selling, telesales and also selling your own services. Yes, we even show you how to improve your CV and apply for a suitable job! But you do need self-confidence to be a good salesperson.

So, read the article and then consider whether selling is the career change you’ve been looking for.
