In this issue we show how to use mind mapping constructively; give seven time saving business tips and suggest how you can boost your profile at work.

An article I read recently was discussing the fact that people who are happy do better at work. They are more productive, have less time off sick and deal with customers and colleagues better – so they are more likely to be promoted. Obviously this is great if you are naturally Mr (or Ms) Happy! But not all of us are – so it’s up to us to try to be happy. A case of mind over matter! Here are just a few suggestions for how you can achieve it:

Each day try to think of at least two things in your life that you’re grateful for.

Try to lead a healthy lifestyle and get enough exercise. Don’t keep hopping from one job to the next. Try to do one thing at a time to the very best of your ability.

Don’t just concentrate on yourself - think how you can help others. You might not think so, but it’s a great mood enhancer.

And finally, try to avoid negative people. If certain colleagues or friends are always moaning then try to distance yourself and find a group that is more positive. It will do wonders for your own frame of mind.

And on that note, I’ll leave you – hopefully trying to think of the two things for which you’re grateful today!
