As I mentioned earlier, everything I read recently stresses the need for good communication skills – the ability to listen with empathy being the top one. But I’ve got my personal favourite: maintain a sense of humour! This doesn’t mean being flippant or not taking things seriously. But it does involve seeing the lighter side of life and being able to smile, instead of getting stressed, when you find yourself in some of the more ridiculous situations that work life can throw at you.
