.control of your career"
Any accurate and apt form of training, support and advice is valuable in any career path. Business Training’s Effective Project Management course offers exactly that in an area of growing importance in private and public organisations alike. Unlike other training, this course offers a comprehensive step-by-step guide alongside practical project assignments, which test your understanding whilst simultaneously supporting your learning via a personal tutor. Even better – the course offers a chance to test your developing skills without the inherent risks associated with a ‘live’ project. Indeed, the entire course is a project unto itself!
The course follows an entirely logical pathway. From understanding what a project is, to understanding objectives, proper implementation and stage planning, financial and staff management and eventual closure and evaluation; every stage of the project management cycle is covered. Actual project examples, related in simple clarity, add to the experience and give weight to the lessons being taught. The course details alternate project planning methodologies; something, I think, that is unique and which I have never seen elsewhere. Experience tells me that when a course is so strong that it doesn’t fear the competition, you too can believe in it.
Whilst the content is probably the most comprehensive I’ve seen, the language is immediately accessible to all. Complex terms and phrases are explained fully. Real-life examples, putting theory into practice, underline the academic study.
Having read and reviewed the course, I feel sure that, had this been at my disposal at the beginning of my career, I would have made far fewer mistakes, made more money for my employers and been a better overall manager. I have read every page of this course - twice – and for all of the reasons given earlier, I have no hesitation in recommending The Effective Project Management course to all of you out there who are about to take the plunge!
Andrew A Ellis
Andrew Ellis’s Project Management career spans 25 years. In that time, Andrew has planned and implemented over 121 projects worth billions of pounds for central government, millions of pounds for local authorities and private businesses, and smaller scale ones for national charities.
Project Management skills are increasingly in demand in the complex and time-orientated world in which we live and this course deals with the subject in a most comprehensive manner, with many clear examples as an aid to learning.
The course material itself is also a valuable source of future reference. I was particularly pleased to see the emphasis given to subjects such as risk assessment and management and the various aspects of monitoring and reviewing, all of which I know from my own experience are of vital importance.
The way in which certain salient points are highlighted and the Glossary of Terms are both pleasing features, while the four set assignments are designed in such a way as to encourage students to revise thoroughly and then provide an exacting test of their understanding.
The established methods of project management are covered in detail but, in addition, the course touches on both the latest techniques and developments. For those who wish to acquire further knowledge, there is a list of other relevant publications and there are details of various project management associations.
The reward for students who master this course is that it will undoubtedly enhance their value to their employers, whether in the private or public sector. It is no exaggeration to say that effective project management has a major bearing on the overall success in most companies and institutions.
