These are turbulent times and it’s no surprise that online searches for such key phrases as ‘how to write a CV’ and ‘recruitment agencies’, run into the thousands! You’d think there couldn’t be an easier time for hiring staff. However, the truth is that employing the right people for the job, retaining them and keeping them motivated is as difficult as it always has been. It remains the number one priority of managers worldwide.

When I received a review copy of the Employing and Motivating Staff course, I couldn’t help but admire the sense of timing and the scope of the course. As I scanned the table of contents, I was delighted to find that it was highly organized and followed a logical process.

The course has 10 modules covering all you need to know about recruitment, induction, statutory obligations, health and safety, training, performance management, work-life balance, grievance handling, closures, downsizing, and relocation. However, unlike many of the courses on these topics, this one is very practical and you can begin implementing it at work right from the first module. The bulleted tips, Dos & Don’ts and checklists make it easy to apply and the progress of its implementation in the workplace, measurable. The clear, jargon-free language makes the material very easy to understand.

The course also includes three tutor-marked assignments and on completion of these, a certificate is given which will enhance your credentials and add value to your CV.

I’d recommend this comprehensive course to newly appointed managers and those who want to brush up on their people skills. It’ll help you achieve a productive, yet happy, workforce in a legally compliant workplace. For the fresh MBA, it’s a great way to get some practical training before you enter the workforce yourself.
